Advocare Cleanse Day 10!

Posted on

Well I’m officially all done with the cleanse! Now it’s back on MNS 3 without the sugar cravings and craziness that my body tends to like when I haven’t been so good with my diet. I have to say I like the new system a lot better. It’s so much easier and I felt like it was easier on my body as well. So that’s very good. Nothing too crazy to report from yesterday, we are getting some rain today. It’s very much needed. We didn’t get much snow this winter and it’s been a very warm, very dry spring so far. So the little extra rain is greatly appreciated.

New Cleanse

I had a weak moment last night. I had a bacon cheeseburger AND a strawberry milkshake. It was so good. It was so hot here yesterday, my energy levels were crap, and I was headed to church. Yep, I just made a bunch of excuses to justify my cheeseburger and milkshake. I don’t regret it one bit. I’m really struggling to consume enough calories lately and I have to be careful with that so that I don’t gain weight with all the extra training that I’m doing. I know that calories are not equal, but please don’t be rude and shame me for being human. Anywho, moving along, here’s the recap.

Day 10
30 mins before breakfast – Probiotic Restore (2), coffee w/milk

Breakfast – apple cinnamon oatmeal, P&C fiber drink

Lunch – Chicken thighs, fried potatoes, California blend vegetables

Snack – None

Dinner – Bacon cheeseburger, fries, strawberry milkshake

Snack – None

Advocare Cleanse Day 9

The cleanse is almost over! Only one more day remaining. I have to say I’m really enjoying the new simplified cleanse. It really does make things easier. If you haven’t heard the new cleanse gives you enough of ALL the products for the WHOLE 10 days. Instead of before, where you took the probiotic some days, the fiber drink some days and the cleanse caplets some days. Now you take all of them the whole 10 days. I think it’s really a great improvement. Here is a picture of the new cleanse:

New Cleanse

I’ve also decided it’s time to give up coffee again. It’s just not doing it for me anymore. I don’t even drink a full cup in the morning and it just feels like a waste of money. So I’ll be switching to tea and hopefully I find a good one that I like. Until then I’ll drink my coffee and maybe switch between that and Spark. Now for the recap!

30mins before breakfast – coffee w/milk, Probiotic Restore (2)

Breakfast – Apple Cinnamon Oatmeal, P&C Fiber Drink

Snack – Cheddar Sour cream chips oven baked

Lunch – Jimmy John’s Italian Night Club (no mayo, no tomato)

Pre-Workout Snack – Mandarain Orange Spark

Post workout – Pure Protein Bar

Dinner – Grilled chicken thighs, antipasto pasta salad, jojo’s

Snack – none

Bedtime – herbal cleanse caplets (2), Catalyst (3)

Financial Peace University – Week 4 Debt Snowball

Posted on

In Week 4 of FPU we learned about the myths of debt. He went over the myths of car loans, credit cards, and other types of debt. It was really interesting and I’ve fallen into the marketing trap of car loans and credit cards. They have such good marketing plans. They totally get you, but that’s what they have to do. That’s their business model. And they’ve marketed their product so well that we beg for it, they don’t even have to sell it to us. That’s pretty crazy.

Anyway, this week we are to put together our debt snowballs (baby step 2). Mine will be 4 debts, 2 credit cards, a car loan and my student loans. So I don’t have a horrible debt snowball, but it’s going to take some time. According to the debt snowball software available through FPU I will be debt free by May 2020. I think it will be sooner than that but we will see.

My May budget starts today (payday!). That’s kind of exciting. So we will see how May goes. I have my account updated which is nice. So hopefully it will help me track my expenses and get a better handle on my spending. I’m planning to track where all my allowance goes as well. So that’s really good I think. I have budgeted in Mother’s Day gifts and mom’s birthday. So that’s something I’ve never done before. I really like that. I know that my spending is out of control and it’s time to do something about it.

My goal for this weekend is to get rid of a bunch of crap out of my house. The stuff that is cluttering my life, whether I sell it, donate it or throw it away, it doesn’t matter. I just need it out of my house and out of my life. So that’s the plan for this weekend, as long as the softball tournament remains cancelled for us.

What are you doing to help with your weaknesses? Are you decluttering your house and life as well? What are your tips and tricks for making the want for stuff less?

Workout Recap!

Remember that competition I told you about? Yeah, I’m still training for that. I’m working on my weaknesses while maintaining my strengths. It’s really tough! I’m currently doing a cleanse to slay the sugar monster that has developed again. Boo.

15min AMRAP:
10 handwalks
20 pushups
30 sumo high pulls, I did hang cleans @75lbs instead

I got 3 rounds + handwalks.

Not really a workout, but a billion* toe-to-bar. I’m really weak in toe-to-bar and doing them efficiently. So I worked on my technique on getting them down quickly.

*Obviously an exaggeration, but I don’t know how many I did.

20, 18, 16, … 6, 4, 2
Close Leg Squat
Weighted Step Ups (70lbs)
Challenge: 5 mins to go back up the ladder doing air squats and lunges

I made it through the workout and 16+9 on the challenge

Run 400m
30 KB Swings (35lbs)
Run 400m
Toe to bar

Run 800m
100 bicycle abs (each side)
100 reverse crunch
100 sit ups
Run 800m

I finished in 24:00 without shoes, I walked the mile in flip flops!

15 min AMRAP:
5 pullups
10 shoulder press (65lbs)
15 mountain climbers

I got 7 rounds + pullups.

I didn’t do a second workout, I wasn’t feeling great and decided not to push too hard.

40 jump squats
40 burpees
40 plank jacks
200m run
30 jump squats
30 burpees
30 plank jacks
400m run
20 jump squats
20 burpees
20 plank jacks
800m run

I finished in 28:04.
