Advocare 24-Day Challenge: Recap

Posted on

AC_logoblue-pms2748

I do believe that this challenge went a lot better than my first one. It really helps to tell people what you are doing. It’s almost like speaking the words aloud make you more accountable to yourself and others. If people know you are doing a challenge, they are watching your every move, and that makes you more accountable to yourself, because you don’t want to let them down.

During the challenge, I lost 8 pounds! YAY! During the first one I think I lost one or two, hardly nothing. The best part for me has been the gains I have seen with my workouts. I’m getting through them faster, heavier and better! And only part of that can be attributed to my trainer. I’m with him maybe an hour a day, the other 23 it’s all me and my choices. And with that, Advocare has helped me to believe that I can do this. I can make better choices, I can be the person I want to be, it is not unattainable. However, it has also taught me that I’m going to have to work hard, every minute, every hour, every day. And with that I will continue on my path with Advocare!

My mom said that the challenge was not hard to stick to, but it is difficult when the ones around you are not doing the same. She hurt her knee part of the way through the challenge and was not able to workout at all. She did take a few days off from the MNS C series and she noticed that she did not have the energy she did have when she was taking the MNS series. That is huge! She has decided to stick with Advocare and the MNS series. I’m so proud of her. Making these small changes to improve her life, health and overall wellbeing. I’m so excited for her to continue on her journey.

Are you ready to take a small step towards improving your life, health and overall wellbeing? Are you stuck in a plateau and need to break through? Let me get you started today! Visit http://www.advocare.com/140932680 and I will get you started today!

Advocare 24-Day Challenge: Day 24

The Challenge is over! Can you believe it? I really can’t. It’s so crazy! I will be continuing the Max Phase for the most part through the new year. I am trying the Coffeccino this morning, a little excited about that. This weekend I will try coffee again! WHAT?!?! We shall see how that goes. I really think that breaking the coffee habit, broke the sugar habit. Which has been wonderful. It never ceases to amaze me when things are linked like that. Pretty crazy. So we’ll see how the reintroduction goes. I’ll keep you guys posted. I have a couple of good posts lined up for you already.

Yesterday we did a crazy hard workout. I attempted the 11th round, already dead tired mind you, and I did my push presses just fine, then the squats I stood up from my 5th squat and the bar just fell. I couldn’t do anymore. I LOVE fail workouts. You definitely know that you pushed yourself to the max during them. It’s so great. I’m really glad my gym family encouraged (talked shit, is what that really means) me to do 65lbs, I was just going to do the bar, and they were like, ummm no. You need at least 10’s on there. Hahaha! Well okay. Then I looked at the board when we were done, our little 230 crew went the heaviest of the day, and we were 4 girls and a guy! YEAH!!! Go us! Super cool when we come together like that. Anyway, here is the final day recap!

Day 24
30 min before breakfast – Mandarin Orange Spark, MNS 3 Yellow Pack

Breakfast – Berry Meal Replacement Shake

Snack – Boom Chicka Pop

30 mins before lunch – MNS 3 Yellow Pack

Lunch – Spaghetti squash with meat sauce, MNS 3 White Packs

Snack – Cherry Spark

Dinner – Chicken breast, California blend vegetables (broccoli, cauliflower, carrots)

Snack – The Paleo Kitchen’s Chocolate Cinnamon Swirl Banana Bread

Bedtime – Catalyst

Workouts:
Crossfit – Push Press, Squat, Thruster 1 of each, 2 of each, 3….9 of each, 10 of each, no break between moves. I did 65lbs and made it to 10 rounds.
Steps –

Notes:
That workout kicked my ass, like straight up! It was awful and exhilarating. That’s what I love about going to Ironcross Fitness, Trevin pushes you just enough that you convince yourself that you can do it. AWESOME! I’d say that for the last day I did pretty well. Tomorrow I’m going to try a Coffeecino. Stay tuned for how that goes.

Well yesterday’s workout was super fun! Ha! I died. It was so hard, but felt so good after so many days off! And then I came home and made spaghetti squash spaghetti and life was great. I got a new camera on Black Friday, it showed up a day early! Kudos to Amazon! It was great! So I started playing around with that some. I got the Nikon D3200 with 2 lenses! WOOT! So I’ll hopefully have better pictures for you guys.

Okay, can you believe that we only have one day left?! Where did this challenge go? It feels like just yesterday that I was doing the cleanse phase! It’s amazing how fast it flies by! I will try to do a total recap when it’s officially over. Yesterday I also ordered Berry Meal Replacement Shakes and Mandarin Orange Spark. I’m so excited for the Spark. It’s seriously my favorite flavor! Here is the recap:

Day 23
30 mins before breakfast – Mango Strawberry Spark, MNS 3 Yellow Pack

Breakfast – Berry Meal Replacement Shake

Snack – Boom Chicka Pop

30 mins before lunch – MNS 3 Yellow Pack

Notes:
It feels so good to be back on track! I am so much better when I’m not tempted by the outside world at restaurants. I’m a disaster at making decisions. Ha! I don’t keep bad stuff in the house so it’s pretty easy.

Advocare 24-Day Challenge: Day 22

AC_logoblue-pms2748

Well it is freezing up here in Montana! It was -12 when I came to work this morning! Super exciting I know. I’m definitely not ready to be at work this morning. 4 1/2 days off was really nice. As you can see we are almost done with the challenge, 2 more days actually! I’m going to be placing an order for more MNS 3, Spark and Meal Replacement Shakes. Really hoping that they have the white chocolate peppermint back in stock soon. I was so looking forward to that.

Yesterday was a pretty relaxing day. I didn’t do a whole lot after everyone left. I did laundry, and then decided to go Christmas shopping! And let me tell you, Target was a lifesaver! SERIOUSLY, I think I got enough gifts for like 12 people! I’m so excited! I hope every trip out to go shopping is that fruitful! Then I’ll only have to make a couple more trips! HAHA! How was your guys’ weekend? I’m so looking forward/dreading going back to the gym today. 4 days off is WAAAYYY too many. Back to the grind…here’s the recap!

Day 22
30 mins before breakfast – Mango Strawberry Spark, MNS 3 Yellow Pack

Breakfast – Berry Meal Replacement Shake

Snack – None

30 mins before lunch – MNS 3 Yellow Pack

Lunch – MNS 3 White Packs, 2 eggs, bacon, broccoli

Snack – None

Dinner – OmegaPlex, Meatloaf, Baked Mac n Cheese, Turkey Dinner Casserole, Chocolate Pie w/whipped cream

Snack – None

Bedtime – Catalyst

Workouts:
Crossfit – None
Steps – 5,405 (2.8 miles)

Notes:
Did I really need the chocolate pie? No, do I regret it? Nope, not even a little. I really didn’t eat that much in the way of dessert this whole weekend, so one piece of chocolate pie is not the end of the world. I’m slowly getting back on track. I think I did pretty well today. We shall see how the next 2 days go!

Advocare 24-Day Challenge: Day 21

AC_logoblue-pms2748

Last day of Thanksgiving weekend, BOO! It’s back to reality today, doing laundry, meal prep, getting ready for the work week. Oh joy! Yesterday, we went and looked at a few houses for my aunt and uncle. That was fun, except the blizzard that hit. It flat out snowed yesterday. I could not believe for how cold it was (I don’t think it got above 10) that we got as much snow as we did. We probably got a few inches. So crazy. And this morning it is -7!! Here is the recap.

Day 21
30 mins before breakfast – Mango Strawberry Spark, MNS 3 Yellow Pack

Breakfast – Berry Meal Replacement Shake

Snack – None

30 mins before lunch – MNS 3 Yellow Pack

Lunch – MNS 3 White Packs, Cracker Barrel Sunrise Sampler (no biscuits and gravy)

Snack – None

Dinner – OmegaPlex, Fried Chicken, Jojo’s and Anitpasto Pasta Salad

Snack – None

Bedtime – Catalyst

Workouts:
Steps – 4,446 (2.3 miles)

Notes:
Well it could’ve been worse! HAHA! Family leaves today so my eating should get back on track this week! Woot woot! Only 2 more days of the challenge and then it’s time to continue on. I believe that I will start incorporating coffee back in on weekends, that way I won’t develop the addiction to the coffee as bad. We shall see. I do kind of miss it, but I think I have started feeling better without it constantly. Crazy how that works. So we will see.

Advocare 24-Day Challenge: Day 20

AC_logoblue-pms2748

What a great holiday weekend! It has been wonderful. It was so great to see all the family and friends that have been around this weekend. I cannot wait to see what else unfolds. Yesterday I spent a good majority of the day out and about with family and friends, taking in the Black Friday deals of the day! I got a TON of Christmas decorations from ShopKo and a pretty sweet hoodie from Scheel’s. When we were at Scheel’s we decided to try their restaurant, and it was AMAZING! It was so much better than I had expected! I had the Elk Philly, which is like a Philly Cheesesteak, but made with elk instead of beef. I have to say it was SOOO GOOD! I highly recommend it. I was so full afterwards that the gelato I wanted to try did not happen. Maybe another time. Here is the recap!

Day 20
30 mins before breakfast – Fruit Punch Spark, MNS 3 Yellow Pack

Breakfast – Berry Meal Replacement Shake

Snack – None

Lunch – Elk Philly, Cheddar & Sour Cream chips, iced tea

Snack – None

30 mins before dinner – MNS 3 yellow pack (forgot to take it at lunch)

Dinner – MNS 3 White Packs, pork chop, sweet potatoes, Brussels sprouts

Snack – None

Bedtime – Catalyst

Workouts:
Steps – 8,164 (4.2 miles)

Notes:
I actually didn’t do too bad, considering. It’s a lot easier when your thoughts about food have changed. That’s definitely a plus!

Happy Thanksgiving & Advocare 24-Day Challenge: Day 18

AC_logoblue-pms2748

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! I hope today you get to spend time with your family and make memories that you can cherish forever. I will be doing the Run, Turkey, Run 5k this morning. Then I’ll be coming back home to make PaleOMG’s Brussels Sprouts Gratin and Pampered Chef’s sweet potatoes! It’s going to be a lovely time. I cannot wait.

So yesterday, we had kind of a free day at the gym. As in, no prescribed workout unless you wanted one. I decided that I was going to learn how to deadlift and it was AWESOME! My first time ever deadlifting and I got to a max of 215! BAM!  It was so great. I tried for 235 and I couldn’t get it. Bummer. Next time! HAHAHA! Here is the recap:

Day 18
30 mins before breakfast – Mango Strawberry Spark, MNS 3 Yellow Pack

Breakfast – Berry Meal Replacement Shake

Snack – None

30 mins before lunch – MNS 3 Yellow Pack

Lunch – Veggie Pizza, MNS 3 White Packs

Snack – None

Dinner – OmegaPlex, Pizza Ranch, Salad, Chicken, Mashed Potatoes and Gravy, Onion Peels

Snack – None

Bedtime – Catalyst

Workouts:
Crossfit – Max Deadlift (215lbs), Straight leg kettlebell deadlifts (max 40lbs)
Steps –  9,329 (4.8 miles)

Notes:
As I said earlier the deadlift was awesome! I finally got some appetite back too, clearly. I don’t even feel the tiniest bit bad about what I ate yesterday because I had not eaten enough for a couple of days. So it will be okay. Still working on my balance. I’ll get there eventually. I cannot believe we are almost done with this challenge though! Jeepers!

Just a side note, I will not be doing a recap of today due to the holiday. Enjoy your family time and see you back here on Saturday!
